ARE YOU CONVERTING FROM A COMPOUND TO A RECURVE?
This can be an easy transition if you remember these few things. It has been our experience that you will drop anywhere from 10# - 15# in bow weight and around 2” in draw length. The weight varies depending on how comfortable you are with your current weight on your compound. It is recommended that you have someone measure your draw length on a recurve. Draw length is measured from the string to the target side of the shelf. Remember, you will probably settle in to a slightly shorter draw after shooting for awhile. It is also not a bad idea to get to an archery shop and try out various weights to see what range feels comfortable. If there is any other way we can assist you in your transition or make the process easier for you just let us know!
